@rubberfall You have it wrong. It is a matter of odds. I did not suggest the New England LACs would accept a Hispanic student soley based on race or ethnicity, but they will prefer a qualified candidate that helps achieve a more balanced class.
There is nothing wrong with approaching probability while being cognizant of conditional situations.
How many more Choate, Loomis and Andover kids do those schools need?
