Negative effect meaning, that it might reduce my chances right?

Yes at Middlesex applying for FA will reduce your chances.

It will have no affect at Andover and Exeter since they are need blind.

did you ever end up getting in? if so, any advice on how i can get it? (:

Alright what about me? I go to a Catholic junior academy. I have an iq higher than Einstein’s and am in Mensa. I got straight a’s all 7th grade and 8th grade first quarter. I scored in the 99th percentile on my SSAT. For my classes 7th grade year I was in 8th grade honors math and Freshman honors English. I should have been in harder classes but the school wouldn’t let me. I play tennis, cross country, and track. For all my cross country meets, I scored in the top 15. The one bad thing is that 6th grade year, I got mostly a’s with about 3 a-s, 1 b, and 1 b+. That was incredibly stupid of me. Think I’'l get in? Also any good back up schools?

Did you guys get in?

Also I scored a superior on my science project for state science fair.

Also! I’m a very good pianist. I play in the local orchestra’s youth orchestra. I’ve won several piano competitions.

HarvardRox, CALM IT DOWNNNNN!! take a breath in, and out, in, and out. Feel better? First off, WOW you have good stats. For any music type ec, send a video of you playing a piece to the music director (can call admissions office ir look in the school directory). As for sports, if you feel like you will have a major impact on the team, then you contact coaches. Look up stats online before you contact though so you have questions. Ask for a meeting and have a chat conscerning the team. Ask about practice schedule, training, meets, etc. Note that these coaches do get contaced by hundreds of people so don’t souly rely on them. Next is academics. Don’t fret over your sixth grade transcript. IT DOESN’t matter. Why would anyone judge you on what you did two years ago. It doesn’t make sense! The reason for the eqrly transcripts is to see if you’ve improved over your middle school career. If anything, lower grades from sixth grade will help you! It shows that you actually cared about your grades and worked hard to see improvement! Now just keep up your grades, have a good interview, qnd you should be fine! One more thing. Essays and interview, imho, are the most important. Interview lets APs see who you truly are and if you would fit into andover. The essays let you exemplify your inner passions in a creative way, which shows lots of talent. If you can pull both of those off, you will have a solid chance of getting in.
Well i think i’ve exaughsted my brain for the day!

Good luck!

Ps. Don’t worry about test scores. On ssat, i got 98 math, 98 reading, and 61 verbal
still got in
