Hi everyone,

The question above says it all. I want to pursue a Masters Degree in structural engineering but I do not know what programs to apply for. I do not want to waste money applying for programs way out of my league (like MIT) but I also do not want to sell myself short. Any answers would be helpful! You don't need to provide an exact list of universities but perhaps an example or a general ranking (example: schools in the top 50). Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated!

My Info:

Major: Civil Engineering (Structural focus)
Year: Junior
Undergrad School Ranking: I think it ranks around 60, so its a mediocre program
Grad Program: Masters (preferably M.Eng but not a PhD program)
GPA: 3.58
GRE: Have not taken it yet
Internships/Research: None
Extra Involvement: Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Societies, I have taken structural analysis at the graduate level (structural analysis 2), active ASCE member

The lack of internships/research is clearly a weak point. I plan to use this summer to get an internship at a structural engineering firm or maybe an aerospace company of some sorts.

Again any sort of wisdom you guys/girls could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

if I was not clear on anything just ask me to elaborate, I will check the thread regularly
