what exactly are STIA courses?? (plz help!!)

Hey guys, according to the MSB bulletin, the liberal arts electives requirement is listed below. what exactly are STIA courses?? Science, Technology and International Affairs?

Liberal Arts Electives

The five electives required to complete the liberal arts core may be taken in any liberal arts area offered by the University with the restriction that only one of these courses may be in the area of economics. Please note: STIA courses do not count as liberal arts electives.

Dose it mean that math and science cannot be counted for a degree at MSB if I take them??

what are some examples of Liberal Arts electives? Languages?

STIA is a specific program within the School of Foreign Service (it is also possible for non-SFS students to have a minor in STIA). Courses within that department are coded STIA-XXX. For instance, here’s the listing of STIA and related courses for this spring: [Georgetown University](http://schedule.georgetown.edu/09A/09A187.html) These classes would not count toward the liberal arts electives.

Languages would be an example of a Liberal Arts elective. There are plenty of others.
