<p>Right now my schedule looks alright, the only problem is that my Mondays' seem very busy. Along with chem and bio lecture, I also have chem lab dis, chem dis, and bio dis. Is this going to be a problem? I assumed discussions were optional because you don't get any units for them. </p>

<p>discussion is mandatory to be enrolled in but as for attendance it depends. if theres a quiz every discussion, like for most math classes, you gotta go. if roll is taken and counted for as an attendance grade, that matters too (never happened to me so far). in my psych 7a class where no roll was taken and there were no quizzes, discussion was utterly useless so I never went, but it depends on the TA. sometimes theyre better than the actual professor, most of the time theyre pretty useless.</p>

<p>I’ve never heard of chem lab discussions, but nevertheless, since you have chem and bio discussion… I highly advise you go to them. There are chances you might get an awesome TA, or just a plain boring one. If enrolled odowd for bio, she gives out quizes and attendance is mandatory i think. For any chem, most often they give you worksheets to work on and the last ten minutes the TA will go over the answers. hint that questions on the worksheets could be on any midterm/final exam.</p>
<p>Haha, I always wondered this, never occurred to me to ask it here though. But yeah, thanks a lot, I guess I’ll be ready for those math quizzes, if they do happen to come on the days of discussion.</p>
