What exactly does the EI Threshold mean for said impacted major?
Does that mean if you are at that EI and you are a California resident, you have guaranteed admission to that major?
If not, how do people know what the EI threshold is for their major before they even apply and the threshold EI stats are released?

EI thresholds are set each year for each incoming applicant pool depending upon the stats from these applicants and the number of spots available. They are not known before applications are accepted so you can try and guess the threshold for each major based on the prior years EI’s. Some years they go up and some years they go down. If you are above the EI for your application year, then you are accepted. You get priority for your in- service area Cal state so you may need a lower EI than other applicants to be accepted. Not true for SDSU.
