What exactly does Transcript "received-final" mean?

I had this question in another thread but no one has answer it yet. So I thought posting it as a new thread.

In the myberkeleyapp, the status of my transcript says: "received-final," what exactly doe that mean? Does it only mean that they acknowledged/varied that the transcript is official, NOT necessarily the content of the transcript as in meeting the condition of admission (gpa and grades)? So does that mean there's still a possibility that my admission is provisional in terms of transcript/grade-wise?

Let's say, IF, they see that some of the conditions aren't met? How will they let us know? Will the status still say "received-in Review?"

Replies would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I think it just means they verified that it’s your official transcript and nothing more. It definitely doesn’t mean they’ve calculated your credits and stuff. All my transcripts say “received - final” but they still haven’t told me which credits count, etc. (i’m a transfer student)

I see. Thanks!

Check your DARS report on Bearfacts. If it’s updated with your credits and says you’ve met the GPA, you’re in good hands.

One of my transcripts has been “in review,” or whatever the terminology is, for almost two weeks. Anyone else have this too?

mine has been under review for weeks now too. final means that your transcript was verified to match with what you reported.

@aeboi “verified to match with what you reported” are you sure? so they have already checked our gpa and grades?

@aeboi and hippo50
Really? they changed the status on mine very quickly from “not received” to “received-final” in two or three days (i didn’t go online to check during those two/three days) If i had a “in review,” i must have really missed it.

They probably didn’t change the status when they recieved and just changed it all at once. Same thing happened to me

Ok guys, i officially have the answer (an undergraduate counselor told me). The “received-final” is just basically what puiyee53 said. They still have to check the gpa, grades, credits, and etc.

Thank you for all of your guys’ responses

does it show final before in review?

in review then final
