<p>Being 'deferred' mean?</p>
<p>Deferred means not accepted and not rejected (EA or ED), but rather pushed back to the regular (RD) round of admissions for consideration. Some schools defer a large percentage of the applicants that they don't accept early, while others outright reject many and leave fewer to the regular round.</p>
<p>"Defer" can also mean, after you have been accepted to a college, informing the college that you want to take a year off before attending.</p>
<p>Deferred means you still have an admissions chance!, unless its the year off thing.</p>
