<p>It helps most if they have given a lot of time (fundraising, arranging reunions) or gave a lot of money meaning millions. Yale rejects the majority of legacies and legacies are in general a highly qualified group (went to top high schools, have strong stats). You need to have at least average stats for Yale unless a lot of $$ is involved in general.</p>
