what exactly is an honors class?

This probably sounds like the dumbest question ever but my school only offers one class that they label an "honors" class. (The one honors class is french V and its impossible to take because we can't even run the french III class due to low enrollment.) The rest of our classes are regular, advanced and AP. So is honors more like AP or advanced? or is it something in between?

Honors is basically like Advanced, but it’s not like AP. AP classes have important AP tests in addition to Finals.

I think it’s more like advanced. AP classes are college level classes.

okay that makes me feel a lot better. I thought my school was lacking in yet another major way.

It’s a harder, more advanced course with a fancy name.

alright just to clarify other schools do not offer advanced classes along with honors classes? So all the “advanced” classes i’ve taken are the equivalent of “honors”

Yes. Yes they are.

Advanced = honors

Regular < Honors = Advanced < AP = IB < IB Diploma
