what exactly is Cornell Rolling!?

Student applying for the rolling schools send in everything on Dec.3.

Student applying for the rolling schools send in everything on Dec. 29.

Who will have a better chance? Is it rolling in that the Dec.3 student gets looked at first and has a better shot or is it rolling in that they are all looked at randomly as long as they make Jan 1 but that the decisions are mailed as they are made.

Which is it?

Aren't, until Jan 1 (well probably even later), all the applications essentially in one big room, all mixed up, waiting to be looked at?

Mine got there on Dec 6th. Unfortunately they won't get my Mid-Years until Feburary-ish, so I probably won't get a decision for a while even though it was in so early.

-WJJ

They make their decisions as the apps come in.

If they have already decided to let in a lot of people, they will be more reluctant to offer admission to those who apply later because there aren't as many spaces left.

I was under the impressions that decisions are sent out as they are made but they are all made AFTER the deadline. I don't think people who apply earlier have an advantage.

yea i was under the same impression...decisions are made on a rolling basis, but applications are all read at the same time
