what, exactly, is so great about Math IIC?

And why has everyone taken the SAT II for it??

I certainly haven’t. And I literally just realized it. Is it ridiculously bad for me not to have taken it, and is this why I got deferred from Georgetown? No school I’m applying to requires the Math IIC. and I know I would do horrendously if I attempted it. even the IC would be a joke with my math skills-- just not a math person.

so what is the importance of this SAT II? and the influence on admissions?

my three SAT II’s are Literature (750), US Hist (760), and Writing (800). Humanities type of person.

Math IIC just has an amazingly easy curve and it's pretty simple if you have taken precalc and can afford 15 bucks for Barron's. I missed 6-9 and skipped 9 (out of 50!!!) and still got a 690. If you're not good at math, then don't worry about it, and it definately wasn't your lack of IIC or your low SAT II scores that got you rejected from G-town.

LOL you think my SAT II scores are low? thanks alot

Your SAT II scores definitely aren't low. My highest 3 were 780,740, and 730, and my math I and II C's were 710 and 690.

but the lack of the math I or IIC might hurt me, then?

I think colleges like seeing a well-rounded individual, so taking math 1c/2c is certainly not a terrible idea. but, if you would get 100 points lower on them (I don't know what kind of score you consider "horrendous") than your other tests, I don't think it's a big deal. I'm sure it wasn't why you got deferred.

Look, one test is NEVER GOING TO get you an acceptance or a deferral. I doubt taking the IIC would've made a huge difference.
