What exactly is Stanford looking for and how did you (a current student) get in?

So i have posted threads like this recently and they really haven’t gone well. I understand that Stanford is a reach school for everyone since it only has a 5% acceptance rate. What exactly is Stanford looking for besides grades/test scores? What do students exactly do to higher their chance of acceptance? I have seen on other threads that they like to see essays that show a passion. So is this true? What did you accepted and attending students do to get in? I also heard that you need to be yourself when writing your essay, and how do u exactly do that? i realize that theres no “golden ticket”, but how do students higher their chances? thanks and sorry for all the questions lol

No one really knows the reason they were admitted, which is the reason there is little to say. As cliche as this always sounds, it is the truth- work hard in high school, love whatever it is you do, and let it go when you apply. Don’t expect to get in, and have a realistic attitude that wherever you end up going, life will be fine. There really is no secret formula other than a bit of luck and good old fashioned hard work.

Stanford preferentially takes students who show a lifelong love and appreciation for learning.

Trying to “higher” your chances as a Junior asking other people how to show it is not a strategy for success.
