What exactly is the Pell Grant?

....? Anyone?

It’s a federal grant for (very) low income students. It requires a very low FAFSA EFC. The maximum Pell is $5550 a school year and requires a 0 EFC. As the EFC increases the Pell eligibility decreases roughly inversely. Once the EFC reaches 5274 the Pell eligibility drops to $0. Like other federal student aid (such as Stafford loans), it is awarded through the school as part of a financial aid award.

BaylorBear…

The above poster is correct. Pell Grants are small and are for low income families.

I know from a previous thread that you want to go to Baylor, but you’re not sure how you’re going to pay for it.

If your parents have a good income, then they will be expected to pay a decent “Family Contribution”. You need to find out how much your parents will pay. You, as a student, cannot borrow much, so you need to be aware of that. And, since you’re considering law school, that’s another reason not to borrow much for undergrad - you’ll have to borrow too much for law school (and newish lawyers don’t earn that much).

Have you filled out FAFSA? If not, have your parents start on that.

Is Baylor a CSS Profile school?

I don’t know if Baylor “meets need” or not. Do you?

Baylor appears to be around $40,000 a year they seem to have many of those $100 her $100 there type fees so hard to tell at a glance. Tuition, fees, room and board.

Looks like a FAFSA only school.
