Plan II is liberal arts-based. It's an intensive program of literature, philosophy, the arts, etc. for people of all majors (if you get in). It's actually a really great program; several of the top students from our school are applying to get in.

Plan II is basically a design your own major type of program with some required courses thrown in. You have to write a thesis to complete the major. It involves many small classes and a lot of individualized attention from advisors and teachers. It is a wonderful program but not that well known outside of Texas. Most students leave the program and go on to Law School or Grad School, many double major in anything from Business Honors to Engineering to Government to Radio-TV-Film.
If you want to learn more about Plan II and UT in general, please go to www.**************.com and buy my book Off The Record: The University of Texas. It is completely student written and has hundreds of quotes from students from majors all over the University including Plan II. It covers areas from Academics to Greek Life to where to live to what to do for fun in Austin. It is a definite must read before you decide where to go to school.
