What exactly...

We call them amahs or ayahs here. Well, some people do. Some people say domestic helper.

Yup! same place as you.

Damn. That’s intense. If I went out with an asian like that I might have to fear for my life.

Dw that was 30+ years ago. All my uncle demands of any guy who wants to get close to me is a full-bio data and family history, including his time and place of birth to draw up a horoscope and to match them. ;)

"All my uncle demands of any guy who wants to get close to me is a full-bio data and family history, including his time and place of birth to draw up a horoscope and to match them. "

Haha, and if we were in America: “I want his name, date of birth, and social security number.”

Nevermind that I just took that from a movie.

^^ HAHAHA my parents say I can’t date until college… but what they don’t know won’t hurt them.

^ Oh, that’s so cool! A fellow Shanghai-er haha, do you go to an international school?

^^ yeah! I do. Do you?

^^My Chinese friend’s parents always said “No boyfriends until grad school” so me and another friend had to make her (very chaste) dates look less so by tagging along :), until her parents relented after five years.

The topic of dating does not come up with my dad haha too embarassing. It’s my mom who has to listen to my silly talks about the future and guys. But here the consensus is, only date him if:

He adores you

He’s perfect but less perfect than you

His mom’s nice

He’s from the same community

The horoscopes match!
and finally 6. If you see yourself marrying him in the future.

Haha not too bad considering my mom is traditional Indian

^^ Haha yeah!! I go to SAS, you? Okay, it’s going to be kind of creepy if you’re from SAS, too…

Imagine if you’re class rivals

I’m trying to figure out what the initials HLZ could stand for now…

^^ Creepy!

I go to another school, don’t worry. We’re the school that’s way poorer than your school.

Haha we’re not that rich! And hmm… wanna tell me which school? Or can I guess?

NVM just checked all my posts and saw that it’s okay if other classmates see.

I go to SMIC.

Pshaw like you guys aren’t rich. YOU HAVE CARPETED FLOORS for goodness sake. And cold water. And hot water in the bathrooms.

Lol what school were you going to guess?

Lol, my Filipino friend says guys are a distraction. Filipino friend #2 speaks exclusive Tagalog at her house. I have way too many asian acquaintances and friends. Then I have a slew of korean friends who are more American.

And they’re all attractive as can be, according to my asian attraction.

I only have ONE asian friend. She lives in Ohio so I only see her once a year.

I solely have ONE Filipino friend. He lives in Ohio so I only get to see him once a year.

My asian friend is dating my Filipino friend :)

My Chinese parents want me to date in high school and go to prom.

^^Aww, I empathize. My Asian friend lives in Michigan, so I only see her like once a year. But twice already this year! And I’m going to visit her this summer and she’ll be the only person not ridiculously far away (Princeton & MIT vs OSU & MIT) when we go to college, so maybe I’ll see her in the fall, and maybe in the winter too when we get back. OMG, that’d be loverly.

But I don’t think my parents would really want me to date either. None of my sisters dated in HS. The youngest that one started was 20.

^ I just saw the thing on the side under your username that says you’re going to MIT… holy frack, that’s like the ultimate Asian parent’s dream!
