IMO?, Intel gold medal?
Someone please tell me</p>

<p>They did extracuriculars for which they had passion. Everyone is different. They must have followed their own passions and would have been successful at them.
It is not possible that every math undergrad will have an olympiad medal/winner at ISEF. While having either one of them will help you in getting admission to colleges, not having either one/both of them will not make you any lesser of a good applicant at any school.</p>

I’m just curious what else they could do apart from IMO and Intel medals that could impress high ranked universities like upenn?</p>

<p>Results threads are all over this site, allun. While some of these will study Math, Penn doesn’t admit students based on proposed majors. Four of the six stickied threads in this forum meet your description. Please look them over. But if you’re searching for a formula, you’re on a fool’s quest.</p>
