Something that is extremely interesting to me is Health. After realizing how big of an issue Obesity and Heart Disease is in America, I want to help improve and elongate people's lifestyles, but how? I was thinking I could write in a newspaper meant for teens, but what are other ways to let people know how important it is to live healthy?

You could write a blog if that is pleasing to you. Or you could ask people to donate used (but still useable) running shoes and then find a way to give them to people who need to exercise? Just spitballing :P

You could volunteer at the red cross but that’s not really what you asked.

If you live in a large city, your local pediatric hospital may have a program to help kids with obesity and activity. Ask about volunteering.

Or write to Michelle Obama (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC) and ask about places in your area that are working with her program.

Or your state land-grant university may have a cooperative extension service that works on nutrition issues.

Or your school district might have a program. Maybe phys ed, maybe school breakfast and lunch, maybe urban gardening.

Do what you enjoy.
Don’t try to outsmart the Admissions committees.
