What field should I do for a high school research project?

I’m in a three-year research course where I find an advisor and work over the school year and the summer on a research project. I’m doing a program with computer science and math so I can choose different fields and apply math to them such as computational biochemistry or engineering. I interested in doing physics or computational medicine. However, as I am spending 2-3 years on this project I thought about the college process. I want to go to a business school and I am taking honors/AP STEM classes. In my school, projects involving a science such as biology, chemistry, or physics do better. I can do something in social science or economics but it would not do as well in competitions.

In essence, should I do something about business or do something more science related?

Would it appear strange if I was doing research for several years on computer science, physics, or biomedicine but I want to go into something such as business/accounting/marketing/finance?
