What? First generation college student?

Is this really effective to put in a college essay, or if not in an essay, the short answer?
My father graduated middle school and my mother graduated high school so I guess I will fit into this category but in no way do I want to solely ride on the fact that I'm a first generation student and that I want to be accepted by forcefully using this fact in my application.
I would like it to serve as an "advantage" in a way but I'm not sure how...
All and any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks a lot.

Nope...it's already on your application, under parental information.

It is only a small tip factor, and mostly for URMs at that. No one gets in anywhere just because they are first generation.

I shouldn't even talk more about it in other parts of the application since it's already on the parental information?

not unless you have nothing else to write about....or is important to you.
