I took Spanish in High School but got tired of it and switched to German in college. I really like German (and Austrian) literature, and there are some pretty cool German films and music (aside from classical). Everyone says German is useless since almost everyone in Germany speaks English especially if they're under 40, but I think what matters most is that you love the language. Now I can also understand a little another cool language: Swedish :P

Japanese its epic

I want to learn Arabic but I just cannot put up with those bl00000dy characters…

Japanese as well.

Spanish.

And a little Italian and Latin on my own.

German in school. And Japanese, sort of. I’m taking a Japanese linguistics course this semester, and I want to learn the language (so I’ve been self studying), but I haven’t actually taken a language course for it. Haha.

I’d like to pick up Norwegian again, Korean would be nice, and *maybe * Italian. We’ll see. :P

Japanese. Great language. Very interesting. Though I would like to take a shot at Arabic as well.

English is my second language, so I took that in High School, together with Latin and Spanish.
Now that I am in College I am still taking Spanish and I just started Arabic.
I self-taught myself japanese for a little while but that failed.

I’ve studied Spanish formally for three or four years now, and I’ve been studying Swedish independently for a while now. I am considering taking up french.

I’m taking Norwegian! I am very excited.

Hey RoxSox, are you going to UW Madison? Do you have Peggy for Norwegian? :]

german and latin

both are a lot of fun!

Pathetique, yes and yes :D

She’s so awesome. :] One of my favorite professors I had the pleasure of having in the last three years. She’s seriously great.

Man, I miss her class now. Haha.

Best of luck to you Japanese takers. It will obliterate your life :P

頑張って!

Is it really that hard? Haha ^^;;;

I’m taking Japanese this fall quarter. I took Spanish 1, 2, and 3 in High School–but unfortunately, I didn’t take it seriously enough to retain any information even though I passed with A’s, studying really hard for those crazy tests. I want to become fluent in Spanish and Japanese by the time I graduate Undergrad, but I don’t know how in the world I’m going to fit that into my schedule–since I’m majoring in Biology as a pre-dental student. >.<

有賀と!

<.< not sure if thats right. Stupid comp.

Edit: Yes japanese is really hard. Kanji is my worst enamy atm.

한국어, also known as Korean

I’m going to try and informally keep studying French…perhaps by finding some books in French to read.

I took Spanish in high school… didn’t like it. So, now I’m taking Russian in college. I’m so jazzed!

I have self-studied Swedish for the past 3 years and speak it quite well. I’m studying Italian on my own, but am not taking a foreign language this semester.

Lycka till alla som l
