What format do you save your images in?

JPG, PNG, GIF, etc?

I still usually do JPG.

Yeah, I use JPG as well.

should I not be using jpg files for my photos?

"still usually" implies that this is the outdated way to save them...

I save it in whatever the program I am using typically saves it in, and if I run into an error, I switch it.

Jpg usually. Sometimes bmp.

There's PNG now, but I was Internet savvy before PNG became widespread. It seems to be used more than JPG now...

Encapsulated postscript is the way to be! Postscript is really the only well-known vector graphics format out there, so if you stick a really detailed .eps file into a .pdf file or something, then when people zoom in on the plot, no detail will be lost. The problem is that .eps files can be huge --- one of mine was 26 MBs or so, since it was a plot of ~40000 points done in Matlab. In general, though, .eps is far, far, far better than anything else.

Nikon RAW from the camera. :) I use uncompressed TIFFs for my art shots. I'm blowing up a few of those to like.... 24x40. jpgs are fine for anything else. btw.. if you plan on printing art quality stuff, try not to use a compressed format.

JPG for !photos (real life/people), GIF for graphics (drawings), PNG for either, but bigger file size (and higher quality). It depends on the situation.

jpg always is much clearer than others like gifs

jpg, bmp, tiff

jpg.

the only photoediting I do is on Photoshop, so it's always just easier to stick to jpg.

.eps!

But that's just became I'm Yearbook editor. Heh. =p

PNG and JPEG/JPG

Usually very large JPGs (mostly 3264 x 2448 pixels) and occasionally Olympus RAW format...but RAW is a pain to process on my crappy computer (even though you can do more editing with RAW files), so I stick with JPG.

PNG, baby, PNG all the way.

Most of the things I have on my computer right now are PSD, AI or PDF.I use JPG and PNG if I'm uploading something to devART.

PNG 4 Life.

I'll probably used Microsoft's HD Format now (Why ? Cuz I'm a Microsoft fanboy at heart :p )

.PWN
