Ive read the conventional wisdom on essay questions, but how do you handle the "why are you applying here" prompts ?

Do you think its better to use a story style answer, like you do for essays ? Or just more straightforward answer? I know colleges want to hear how great they are and how much you want to go there, but if you suck up too much will that turn them off ?

Anyways… I think it’s best to just write in a way such that you really convey all your interests and how the university you’re applying to really makes it easy to pursue those. I don’t think it matters if it starts off with a story or if it’s a traditional essay saying “I like to do so-and-so” as long as you convince them that you’re really serious about the university and your major choice.

(I’m a senior like you so i’m inexperienced and this is just my understanding)
