What gets u rescinded?

Will I get rescinded if I change my 2nd semester schedule? What if I drop an AP class? Is it fine if I drop an AP class and replace it with something else that is still challenging?

Directly from the U-Mich website:

"The University of Michigan expects all aspects of your academic performance and conduct in your senior year to be consistent with the record you presented upon admission. Any significant decline in your academic performance, such as three or more C’s, any D’s, E’s or F’s, may be cause for revoking admission. Declining grades or a significant change in curriculum may also be cause for revoking admission. Although senior year grades are reported directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and reviewed, it is your responsibility to advise OUA of any serious decline in grades or changes in course selections previously entered on your application. Please note that transfer students are also subject to revocation if their course work completed before the intended term of enrollment at U-M does not meet our academic standards.

It is also important that you maintain high standards of behavior and conduct. Misconduct that occurs or comes to light after your admission, such as disciplinary action at your high school/college that leads to suspension or expulsion, criminal charges or convictions, or other serious behavioral incidents may be cause for revoking admission."

I don’t think dropping one class for another counts as a “significant change in curriculum,” but that’s just my opinion. It’s not going to look great to drop an AP class, but I don’t think it’s grounds for revoking your acceptance.
You’d be best off speaking with someone at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions about it if you’re really worried, though.

No, it is not ok to change courses at this stage. If you do, you had better have a valid reason and you must communicate that reason now rather than when asked why. Honestly, I do not see why you would want to change anything with only 4 months left before you graduate.

what if I switched from Art 3 to Sociology? I’m worried I’m going to get kicked out now…

I’ve never heard of a school that gives out E’s.

Unless you applied to the Art program I seriously doubt you’ll be rescinded due to swapping Art3 for Sociology.

some public schools near me give E’s (its supposedly less harsh than a big red F)

My school gives E’s.

I just faxed a copy of my ‘new’ schedule to the Office of Undergrand Admissions

Hope all goes well, if they have any questions 2 ask, i think they would probably contact me

It cant be THAT bad, i just replaced AP Physics with AP Microeconomics…

It shouldn’t be a problem, unless you were admitted into the college of Engineering, in which case, AP Physics would have likely played a major role in your admission. But if you are LSA, you should be fine.

Murder, rape, other such tomfoolery. But all kidding aside you should probably be fine.
