Which school is good for life sciences as in pre-med related sciences?

Is UCSD good? Are there any distinctions or advantages one college has over the other?

You probably know what I think.

All send many kids to med schools each year. All have strong students and are competitive. All have different atmospheres and surrounding areas. All have research available in the sciences for students if they are willing to look for it and lucky enough to get it. UCB is considered the strongest and most competitive, followed by UCLA and then UCSD, although someone trying to get into med school will not have an easy time at any school.

all 3 are really good. some people choose to go to UCSD because the environment isn't as competitive (berkeley is competitive in general and ucla sciences is very competitive too).

Would UCSB be a smart choice, if one is thinking about going to Med School? Good school, but not that competitive???

It might be, but the atmosphere is less conducive to hard studying. One can certainly go to good med schools if one does well there, so perhaps.

Carbonfishbone - if you are looking for a fourth choice, UC Davis has a new college of Biology and they offer a decent pre-med program. Unlike UCLA - the Davis Medical Center is located off campus and the medical college is moving staff over to new buildings at the center which is located in Sacramento about 20 minutes from Davis.
