So junior year classes were
IB bio,IB psych, AP comp sci principles , TOK, Calc AB, APUSH, AP english comp.
SAT:1510
GPA: 4.9 weighted, top 15 in class
EC: Code club, chess club, medical club, Eagle scout (Was head of troop and now a troop guide for younger scouts), like to code in free time, did a prestigious neuro-science project with mayo clinic. I won nationals in Latin certamen but our team was disbanded after sophomore year by our crazy teacher. Help teach this Taiwanese girl English while she helps teach me with chinese.
Honor Societies; psych (just created) ,science, history, national, chinese
Goal: I want to go into neuro-science , and apply for med school.
I don’t think i will be eligible for that much aid. I’m not rich but colleges don’t help much if you are in the middle.
* And what about other Ivies or schools around that level like WashU, am I good enough for them?
*** also should i take IB physics or continue with comp sci? Which is better because i like both and have taken AP physics.
Top 15 in a class of how many students ?
Have you considered Johns Hopkins University & Rice University ?
What is your state flagship school ?
Top 15 out of 413 at the moment , State flagship is UF, and I have not considered Rice yet by JHU i have.
also here are some extra stats:
At the moment ;
AP scores : APWH: 5, Psych: 5, HuG: 5 , Bio: 5, AP CSP: 5, AP CP A: 5, Euro : 5, Calc AB : 4,
AP Physics 1: 4, English Comp 5 , APUSH: 5
SAT II: Bio : 800, Math II 800, Latin 800, APUSH: 800 , Physics : 800
IMO, the IB physics will give you more options in coursework or majors in college. Most college freshman haven’t studied any computer science courses. AP Physics 1 is much less advanced than IB physics. Physics is useful in the study of neuroscience.
That having been said, I don’t see chemistry in your coursework. You will need HS chemistry to be a successful pre-med. I’d choose chemistry over physics or comp sci.
