What GPA and SAT/ACT qualify for Admissions?

What is considered a passing academic score(GPA,SAT/ACT) for Admissions criteria?

UW: 3.76, W: 4.37,(14 APS, H, CC), 10th,11th,12th, (my grades dropped in 1 sem because of family urgency)
SAT 1: 2140(over 700s)
IIC: 800, Language:780, Lit: 690, Chem:670, Bio: 640, History:570
(Im not good at taking tests)
Thanks..

Your stats are probably good enough to apply. No stats will "qualify" you for admission - numbers alone won't cut it.

ok, thanks a lot. any more suggestions?

if you're not hooked, i suggest raising your SAT a bit more so that it is at least 2200+

And some of your SAT2 marks while your at it too. Some of them are a bit low.

yes, im retaking chem & history in the fall. I know I can at least break 650 for us, and 700 for chem. How's my GPA though, bit low for Stanford? The B's I received were from the AP classes. I took the hardest APs that offer at my school.

Man, I hate my school's weight system. Not only aren't there any honors classes, but AP classes only contribute about .02 extra to GPA. It makes me look bad compare to people from schools like yours. Blarghhh.

oh, yeah. Well, one reason why I have a pretty high weighted GPA is because of my community college classes. I think I took about 7-8 classes?

Stanford will recalculate your GPA, and will use unweighted GPA counting only academic subjects in grades 10-12.

stanford counts 12th grade gpa, too? Dont they just look at how many APs and H classes you take in 12th grade?

I don't even think community college classes count toward high school GPA.

If you apply SCEA, 12th grade grades do not count for admissions. If RD - then first semester grades count.

My school counts C.C. classes toward high school GPA. However, they are not weighted. nngmm, thanks a lot. So, SR first sem. grades count.

hi...i am really interested in applying to stanford but for the time being i am realistic enough to say that i am not planning to apply b/c of my horrible stats: 1980 SAT's...but my advisor is practically forcing me to apply b/c she knows how much i want to go this school...but honestly i know i don't have a chance unless i write some kick ass essays...but i am going to take the ACT and so far i've scored 33-34 on the practice...what are your thoughts?

crazedjunior: If your GPA is very high along with recommendations and you do take ACT, give it a shot. Nobody is guarenteed, but you can give it your best. Atleast you tried! Otherwise you will never be able to forgive yourself for not having tried. Stanford will look at your entire application carefully. Remember to write killer essays.

thanks gymnastmom...i'll try :)
