What GPA does McGill consider for admission?

Hi I’m applying for Fall 2016 Faculty of Arts (btw, does anyone know when that application opens??? im super nervous about applying because McGill is my top choice). Anyways, since McGill only considers the applicant’s 10th, 11th and 12th grade academic record, does this mean the GPA on my transcript should exclude 9th grade? since most US high schools include cumulative GPAs from 9-12th? or will these just ignore it altogether?

Also, do they consider classes like Gym/PE? I took two years of PE which really dragged down my average because I got 2 C’s (one in 9th grade and one in 10th grade).

At the moment my gpa for 9-11th grade is:
3.45 UW
4.26 W

My GPA for 10-11th grade is 3.5 UW, 4.5 W

After 12th grade, i hope to bump it up to at least 3.6 UW, not including 9th grade but still including those two C’s from Gym.

I’m applying to faculty of arts so my english grades are as follows:
English II Honors - B first sem, A second sem
AP lang - A both semesters, 5 on test
AP lit - easiest teacher in the school, will def have As both semester and a 4/5 on exam

SORRY THIS WAS A TL;DR IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY IN A DEAD COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL TOPIC! I’ve just een so obsessed with reading about McGill.

Here are the minimum requirements for admission, assuming that you are American:

http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/unitedstates

It is the UW GPA that they recalculate for grades 10, 11 and 12. Like all schools McGill only counts academic courses, no PE etc.

Then you have to also have the minimum ACT/SAT scores.

Did you ever find out when the Fall 2016 Faculty of Arts application opens? I can’t wait to find out!!

i asked last night, and was told early september. xx

yea, i saw anywhere from sept 1 to sept 15 from previous years

even if you don’t get in now, don’t worry. if you are dead-set on going to McGill, just do your first two years at a community college (or another university) and then transfer out! if you do two years of university study they don’t look at your high school transcript at all.
