I really don’t know. What I DO know is that it’s pretty competitive :c. Can’t we all just be friends (and get your GPA lower than mine so I can be a higher rank cough) :D?

Since you have to be in the top 7 to be in the to 10% at my school, probably above a 3.9 (we don’t weight).

Well, my school is a tad bit competitive. I am barely in the top 10% with my uw 3.73 and w 4.07.

At my S’s school (all classes are honors), a charter school, I am quite sure that at least the top 20% are 4.0, unweighted. Thanks God, they don’t rank. I am pretty sure that there are 3.5’s in the bottom 50%.

Depending on how many kids graduate early, the top 25 kids should comprise the top 10%. This is about a 3.5+ uGPA with 5-8 AP classes.
My school uses weighted GPAs to rank, so a straight A standard student would only slightly overtake a C student in AP or Gifted classes, if at all.

10% is probably 3.8 UW

The major emphasis in admissions on top 10% rank seems misplaced to me. There is so much variation in what it takes to get there. I guess schools just don’t have time for a purely holistic evaluation of each candidate and have to use the stats they can get?

Some 4.0 UW’s in our school barely get top 10%.

Definitely above a 4.0W, not sure exactly. Best possible is 4.3W.

No idea… My school doesn’t rank. (Or at least I don’t think it does…)

My class size is less than 50.

But it’s pretty competitive… I’m on the low end of things. I think.

4.0 W is probably the 10% mark at my high school. The number 1 weighted GPA is probably 4.15-4.20

4.0 rounded is top 10%…Valedictorian of my class has about a 5.78, but then the salutatorian is 4.97…so there is a huge difference…

It depends on your school.

I had a 3.94 unweighted (with 8 honors and 7 AP courses, we were limited on honors/AP -_-) and ranked 32 in the class of 180.

My school is really freaky in that we don’t weight GPA. As a result, we have about 14 people tied for first in class at 4.0. My school is not very competitive, but the top students in my class are. I would guess you’d need about a 3.7 UW to make top 10% as there are a bunch of us with 4.0s, and probably there are at least double if not triple that amount of peope in the 3.7-4.0 range.

At my school its like 2.5. Huge mexican population.

I don’t like that you’re implying Mexicans are stupid.

At my school, a 3.3uw combined with 15-20 AP or GT classes will put you up there. We do weighted gpas for ranks.

Not as a race, but a my school most of them are.

Top 10% is a 4.1-ish

Top 10 people is a 4.55
