I'm applying for transfer to UCLA for Fall '10 as a History Major. I came across this link, which says only the UC Transferable GPA is used in the admissions process, except for applications to majors in Economics, Psychology, or The Life Sciences where the Overall GPA is then used. However, i have also heard that the Overall GPA is used no matter what from my TAP Counselor. Here is the link, can anyone let me know if this is still valid?
Overall UC-transferable GPA is used.

If your major is in the life sciences, economics, or psychology, then they look at both your UC-transferable GPA as well as your pre-req GPA (the grades you got on classes you need to complete according to the list on the ASSIST site) separately.

By overall GPA, they mean only the grades you received in UC transferable courses.

UC transferable gpa in uc transferable courses. they might look at other courses you take that aren’t transferable, but as long as you don’t get poor grades in those, you should be fine
