What GPA puts you within the top 10% of your graduating class?

Our top 10% is the top 44, with a class of 440 - and to be 44th or better, I believe one needs about a 3.50, in order to be in the top 10 ranks, you need around a ~3.82. Our valedictorian has a 4.1, I think.

We don’t have weighted GPA, so no one has anything higher than 4.0.
The top three people (out of 147) have 4.0s and I’m ranked fourth and have a 3.99. I would estimate you need a 3.8 or higher to be in the top 10%.

I have a 4.65 and I am ranked 2nd in my class. We have a class of 450 students. I guess one would need at least a 3.8 weighted to be in the top 10%.

LOL, wow. The girl who is ranked #3 has like a 3.81 at our school… LOL, and this is weighted too - weighted out of 4.5. Our school isn’t even competitive… we’re all just stupid, apparently.

I have a 4.2 weighted GPA, and I’m just barely outside of the top 10%. There are about 290-300 students in my grade.

I don’t know exactly. There are about 430ish kids in my class. We have a histogram of the weighted GPAs. There are 25 kids in the last bar, which is 4.4+. There are 72 kids in the next one, 4.1-4.3. I hate the uncertainty around it. Especially since I used to be in the top bar but my GPA dropped slightly and I am now in the second one. So while I think I am still in the top 10%, it is impossible to tell!! That is, until like the week before graduation (and I am still a junior)

for our school, top 10% would be about the top 50 students. I would guess that it would be 4.7ish out of 5.2 weighted, but I’m really not sure

3.7/3.8 Unweighted for current senior class

For my school we have around 120 students in our graduating class. To be in the top 10 percent (so top 12) you need around a 3.85 unweighted, a 3.5 would barely put you in the top half.

@ArtsyGirl13 - LOL, oh my. A 3.5 puts you at the halfway mark? At my school, having a 1.8 puts you at the half way mark I believe - because I know people who have low 2.1’s who are still in the top 40%…

I believe a 3.85+ puts you in the top 10% at my school.
For my graduating class, we have 10 people with 4.0s tied for valedictorian.

@Propinquity - Sounds like a Hunger Game is in order.

4.24 for the Freshmen class out of 200. A bit of inflation. ;-P

Around 3.7. I have a 3.6 and I’m in the 12th percentile.

Our school doesn’t do rank by unweighted, so the top 10% have 4.0 and above. The top 5% have 4.2 and above. A 3.5-3.99 puts you in the top 15%.
So yeah, my school is extremely competitive - mostly because it’s so small (my grade is like 35 students.)

It’s done by UW Cumulative
So about a 94 for the current freshman class (of course that’ll most likely drop post-exams)
And a 93 for current seniors

My school ranks by UW percentage. Top 10% is 95+, and I think the valedictorian has 98. Top 50% would probably be…90-ish? A lot of people have low 90s.

3.65 uw
3.8 w

My class doesn’t weight so we have 26 people tied for first in my grade for the semester. We all have 4.0’s. We have a class of 500 so I’m guessing you would need a 3.90 to be in the top 10%.

4.6-4.7 Lots of gpa inflation at my school :P
