Im a junior considering Elon and wondering what they look for

whatever gpa you want

the sat range is around 1180-1340-- that around 50%

really? does that reflect this year's admitted students? I know three people who did not get in with high 1200 and low 1300 range.

My daughter is on the waitlist with SAT's of 600CR/660M/600W.
Good luck.

740CR/660M/660W worked for me, but there's so much variation. If you're good at something you'll be fine. Write a good essay, make it unique, and obscure (But Good). Let your teachers edit it, make sure it's something meaningful. You'll be fine.

To 252525:

The SAT is not the only criterion for admission. What were your friends'
other stats? GPA? Many honors or AP classes? Elon also considers the
writing component of the SAT, how did they do on that? I am curious
because I often see comments like yours and I am trying to figure out
how useful the SAT score is as a predictor.

Thanks

NewMa: actually, they were both quite good students, strong grades, strong classes, one had a 1250 and the other a 1300 or 1320....have no idea about their essay, obviously, but it is just proof that what we hear is true: Elon is getting more and more competitive.

my brother got in with a 3.5 and 1490 SAT. He took 4 APs while I only took 2. His GPA is around 2 or 3 points above mine.

I got in with CR 710/ M 640/ E 670

ACT 29

GPA- 3.82 before elon converted it to their scale

I was accepted with 600CR/660M/620W. My gpa was a 3.3 before it was recalculated. I took 3 AP and 5 honors classes throughout high school and average about a B in those courses. However, I went to visit the school and the head of admissons for my state (NJ) remembered my essay from the other hundreds she had read at that time. She told me Elon relies on the essay to discover what kind of person you are and outstanding essays are equally as valuable as outstanding SAT scores.

I was accepted with 710CR/700M/670W. I was also an IB diploma candidate, which means I was enrolled in 6 IB courses during each of my junior and senior classes. I was accepted into the Honors Fellows program as well. Good luck : )

Oh, and my GPA was a 4.3 weighted. I believe that it was a 3.6 unweighted.
