Okay currently I'm fourteen, which is technically a freshman (if I went to school in the US) but if I attend this American school at the end of August, I have to be in the 9th grade as there is no 10th grade application.
Family members have suggested I should start looking at SAT vocab words.
So far I've looked at Word Smart Junior when I was ten or eleven but that's probably all.
As for math, I'm in an advanced class but I suspect that not all I learn at school will be in the SAT math part.
Just out of curiosity, when did you start those little preparations (not hard-core studying the textbooks though) for the SATs?

i hate the SAT

ACT is a much fairer test

Beginning of Junior Year took my first PSAT. Started revising 3 weeks before the May test.

summer after 8th grade.

Im a freshman now, scoring in the 2000-2200 range. Trust me, practice helps and this website is a big reason why I got so high

The summer of 8th grade, like schoolisfun.

Summer before sophomore year I started doing a few practice tests on my own for fun. I took the PSAT sophomore fall and junior fall, took my first SATI in March of Junior year. Don’t make your entire high school career about the SAT. A little early practice is good, but it shouldn’t take precedence over your other school work or your social life this early in high school.

I took the PSAT sophomore and junior year, and did not begin preparing for that exam until the summer between freshman and sophomore year. As for SAT prep, that only began around October of junior year (I took the SAT only once that following March). Honestly, it simply depends on what your strengths are. I did no preparation for the CR, though in retrospect I think I should have done a bit more review for the Writing section. My math skills are horrible, so I focused on brushing up my skills in that area. Learn what you’re bad at and go from there.

I started the summer before junior year. got a 2300.

During 8th grade, -______-, stupid talent search, I ended up not even taking it.

i don’t plan to study. I got a 32 on the Practice ACT and 2400 on a sat i did from a friend’s prep book in about 3/4 of the allotted time, so why bother? i already knew all the vocabulary by 6th grade, it’s really simple. math is also a joke. and i’m naturally good at the other portions as well.

Spring of sophomore year. The school sponsored a PSAT/SAT prep course for the top 60 scorers on the sophomore PSAT. The course finished just after the PSAT in junior year, and I took the January SAT this year to ensure I didn’t forget what I “learned”.

started thinking about “seriously” at the end of 9th grade.

started “seriously” studying summere before 11th grade, didnt study correctly and thus started studing “correctly” December-January of 11th grade.

Okay so when did you all (for those of you who have) take it? Or if you haven’t taken it, when are you planning to take it (also please indicate your grade)?
