Hi! I'm a high school sophomore, and I took the PSATs as practice this year. It's got me thinking about college and my future career plans. I have a general question about college admissions.

Okay, let's say these are the grades I received in English my freshman year...

Would a college see each individual grade or would the admissions officers see my final class average (92.25)? Or do they take an entirely different approach?

By the way, those are just examples. They're not my actual grades.

At my school, both semesters are listed on my transcript, and there are only final semester grades, no averaging of semester grades for a year-long grade.

But every school is different. I would check with your guidence counselor.

Yes, each school is different. At my school, report cards are issued every six weeks and at the end of each semester and have a numerical grade as well as a letter grade (but no +/-).

The transcript just has the letter grade for each semester along with the cumulative GPA.

ask your hs guidance person for a transcript. I had the D order one. everything is so abreviated no full words. i wonder if they know what classes are even on them.
