specifically, can they see my 1st semester senior year grades during admission? My school’s semester doesn’t end until late january

UCs will only consider sophomore and junior year for UC GPA. But if you are admitted, it will be provisional on your senior grades - they have to be consistent with your previous GPA, and nothing below a C.

@corgigirl is correct, however if you are waitlisted you can send in your 1st semester Senior grades to help your cause.

does anyone know where i can find this on an official website?

Here is a link on how to calculate your UC GPA from the official website. You self report all your grades and list your Senior classes on the application. After you are accepted, you can report your Mid-year grades to your admitted UC but they will only ask for your official transcript after your graduate. Once accepted at a UC, it is provisional so you need to maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA through your Senior year.
