What grades/SAT, EC did you get to get into UCB

Sorry I don’t know if theres a topic like this but I was wondering about the people who got accepted to UCB, what grades, SAT scores, EC you did, that probably got you accepted to UC Berkeley. And also any advice to us high school students who really wants to attend UCB. It would be helpful ^^;

i got into berkeley's college of chemistry
1290 SAT I
750 SAT II MATH IIC
750 SAT II Chemistry
760 SAT II Writing
4.15GPA Rank: 25/643

EC Not much just a couple of sports, clubs, ASB, etc.
The thing that I think got me in was my experience working at a chem lab.

I would suggest gearing ur application (essays, grades, etc) to your intended major to show that you are passionate about it. For example, I wrote about my experiences in the lab for one of my essays. All of the UC's want you to show that you are passionate towards your major.

i also like the college of chemistry in ucb. how/where did you sign up at a chem lab?

4.4 GPA W, 800M/660V/770IIC/720W/770Spanish

No ECs.

Advice: Get good grades, score high on the SAT, concentrate on a couple of ECs and do something original. (I can elaborate if you really want me to)

College of Chemistry
4.05 UC GPA
85/389 ranking
1300 SAT I
750/740/680 SAT II

How is a 4.05 85/359? My 4.1 UC GPA and 4.4 Weighted gets me ~30/550. What the hell kind of elite school do you go to nanday?

Gpa- 4.15
Sat-1510
Sat2s- 770,770,780
no rank
lots of ECs with leadership

Sat1 is less important to UCs so don't worry if it isn't the best ever.

GPA ~ 4.0 UW, 4.6 W (UC somewhere in between?)
SAT - 1450
SATII's - 720, 720, 800
1/504
Lots of EC's with Leadership (ie: Marching Band, Choir, etc.)

~Good Luck :)

GPA ~ 4.2-4.3
SAT: 1310 (660M/650V)
SATII: 690W/700USH/740MathIIC
Rank: 5/596
EC: Few: WASC, Key Club, Web Design Club

Accepted with:

1260 SAT I

740 writing, 650 bio, 610 math IC

There is a lot more to the admissions process than test scores...

Did anyone with under a 4.0 UC GPA get accepted to Berkeley??

yes i know of a friend of mine did. but he had great sats and great ecs and great essays. His UC Gpa was welll under 4.0

Can you explain whats EC with leadership? You have to be president or member of the cabin? And currently I maintain a UC GPA 3.95, you think thats satisfying?

What are your SATs? And for ECs, pick a few things and be really REALLY involved/good at them.

Leadership in EC's
~Marching Band
-Section Leader, Soloist, Secretary of Band Club, Equipment Team
~Choir
-Stage Director, Prop Mistress
~Theater
-Box Office Manager

etc...some others could be Prez of Clubs, Leading Food Drive, just find something you love and it won't be that hard :)

GPA: 4.2-4.3
SAT: 1400
SATII: 750W/700BioE/760MathIIC
Rank: ELC qualified
EC: Waterpolo, Swimming, Japanese Language School, Shorinji Kempo Maritial Arts, 350+ hours community service, some clubs...

don't have GPA, international student
sat1 : 1570
sat2 : 800/790/780/780/770
ec : sports, science competitions and science fairs, chess

getting in? either be very good at something i guess or be an all-rounder? i think high SATs help a lot, esp if ur an international, judging from those from my school who got in...

Here are my stats. Obviously I'm going to get higher than a 4.0 GPA after my 1st semester senior year. But will that matter?

My class rank is well under the top 10 percent of a 800+ students. I might even be in the top 5 percent, but I'm not sure.
I live in San Diego, California and I'm Vietnamese.

*Also anyone have connections with the admission office for UCB next year? :-P
And do you think its appealing towards the admission office at UCB that I am improving my grade each year going up to 3.95 overall, rather than someone who is consistent and getting 4.00 UC GPA overall.

boost up my post
