What graduate schools offer JD/MBA joint degrees?

And does anyone have any advice on pursuing one?

What classes to take/LSAT prep/good extracurriculars to have/when to start prepping

For law school, usually no experience is required, but it's often encouraged when applying to business school.

Should I take a few years off after college to work up my resume?

Most, if not all, schools that have both law schools and business schools offer the joint JD/MBA degree. You will have to visit the websites of schools that interest you to find out more information.

Most likely, you will need to have at least 3-5 years of full time work experience in order to gain admission to business school. You will apply separately to law school and business school, and you must gain admission separately to each program before you can do a joint degree program.

You have to figure out whether law or business is more important. If law’s more important, there’s no point in waiting. There’s considerable amount of lost wages in waiting. Plus, it’s not a guarantee you’ll get in the same b-school. While l-school look primarily on lsat/gpa, b-school look more on your work experience, essays, and reco, which is not only subjective but extremely unpredictable. It would suck if you held off 3-5 years only not get accepted to the same school. plus, if you are a liberal arts major, unless you are working in the banking, consulting, investment industry, it’s difficult to have the quality WE/leadership needed to gain admissions into top bschool.
