What happends if I get rejected from all my schools? I'm starting to get worried, I only heard from one place, and it was a rejection. I have 11 more left. I can not go to a community college, because I am graduating from there with an assoicates degree, at 18. I am really starting to get worried. Everyday my friends hear and I havn't heard from anyone, except for one rejection, from Providence College yesterday.

well, if you really get rejected from all, which is doubtful unless you didn't match up your prospects well, there are some schools with rolling admissions that are still accepting applications. Otherwise, take a gap year, get a job or some valuable volunteer experience and try again next year.

I did, I applied to non-competitvie state schools, up to Ivy Leauge. But I have such a weird circumstance I feel like the state schools, will overlook that, and just look at my high school grades, which are horrfic, and my SAT scores=not so good.

I guess, you are right. I could actually get a relativly high paying job, but I think this would I would have to give up my college exsperience, and since I already gave up my highschool one, I would not like to compromise that.

EDIT: Also, I dont think I can got through the stress of this process again!

that's 1 down, 11 to go. Don't get worried yet. The chances that you'd be rejected from ALL of your schools are practically nonexistent. It's natural to feel that way from the first rejection, and despair, but it won't happen. Try and take it easy.

Also, taking one year off to work/travel/volunteer doesn't mean you will miss out on college. Just reapply next year or apply rolling admissions or for the spring semester. It may be stressful, but the good news is that you already have your essays written, you've compiled your ECs, taken the SATs, etc etc etc... now all you would have to do is submit.

Take a deep breath. You are a good student and a good person. College admissions do not define you. You will end up where you need to be. Think positively. I was in the same boat as you just yesterday. I was panicked that I wouldn't be accepted anywhere (I really didn't do the whole safety, match, reach thing properly. I thought Bryn Mawr would be easy to get into- what was I smoking? It's all good though, cause I got the call yesterday that I'm in), but then I got that first acceptance and it's a huge weight off my shoulders. Don't compare yourself too much to the people on this forum. There are WAY more applicants than the group of posters here. You will get a big, fat envelope from a college that will be just as thrilled to have you as you are to attend.
Best of luck!

colormehappy, I was in the exact same situation (I even posted a thread about it: Does anyone else worry about not being accepted anywhere?). My university counselor had told me that Bryn Mawr, Macalester, and Wellesley would be safeties for me, so those were the least selective schools I applied to -- I ended up being accepted to Bryn Mawr, and I haven't heard from any of the others, but I'm honestly not quite sure what I was thinking.

To the OP -- as long as you have a relatively balanced list of safeties, matches, and reaches, the likelihood of not being accepted ANYWHERE is extremely low. Good luck! I hope you hear some good news soon. :)

Thanks, you guys! You were all really helpful and made me feel better!! So, I just got a waitlist leter from syracuse's journalism program!! and this made me feel thrilled, and beyond happy!! :-D
