What happened at your local info session for top colleges?

So, I was at an info session for 6 Ivies + Stanford last night. I learned absolutely nothing, it was really just for people who are clueless. The booklets are interesting though (plus they have the intoxicating smell of fresh ink and stock!)

Noteworthy comments and observations:

The female admissions officer from Princeton was VERY pretty. Very, VERY pretty.

The panel danced around some questions because they need to be politically correct.

One misguided girl (whose English was poor) wanted to be told the distinction between Harvard College and Harvard University.

A bunch of idiots were asking about professional schools at the separate booths even though this was an undergraduate session ("OMG, how can I apply to Harvard Law?").

All of the other questions were pretty bad too, even without having previous knowledge I could have answered their questions simply by listening to the panel.

i went to one today and its really boring and pointless.

I came away with really good impressions of Dartmouth and Princeton, and really bad impression of Penn and Columbia (i was going to apply to Columbia and now i’m not)

I didn’t get to talk to Harvard rep because she is literally surrounded by 30 kids at all time.

Yeah, i hate how they keep dancing around some questions because they need to be politically correct. And people keep thinking that asking general question like “ooo how’s the opportunity to oversea studies” will impress the reps and get them accepted. All that did is get the reps repeat the answers over and over again. “Yes we offer those opportunites” (duh, its the ivies and stanford)
