I can’t seem to find any of the college forums that I was subscribed to. I had a few colleges that I have subscribed to that would notify me if there was a post in that specific college. I can’t find those anymore and it does not appear that I can re subscribe to them. Did I miss something or is that feature no longer available? Thanks.
I echo your gripe and hope that they restore that feature soon.
I agree. Not being able to subscribe to specific colleges is a big negative. I am not going to look up each college every day, so I will just be spending a lot less time on CC if this isn’t fixed.
Same issue here. The mobile version is a big step backwards, takes 5x as long to view what I used to. Disappointing. This was done so people could upload avatars? Really?
Yes, yes, please bring back something like the “Control Panel” where you could subscribe to a particular college forum, and click right through to that college from there. I’ve followed my kids’ colleges, and sometimes chimed in on the conversations. And while they were applying to colleges, I’d tab ALL the colleges in the running.
This process of going to the alpha college list is way too cumbersome.
Glad I don’t have a kid applying to and trying to decide on a college THIS year.
Or perhaps we’ve all missed a built in short cut?
@Jane345: No, we didn’t miss it, CC did.
But we have avatars, so there’s that.
Terrible re-design. Harder to read and follow. Awful.
I guess it means that we will only be able to talk about generic issues.
Maybe that is why people are resurrecting old threads, because they can’t find information about the colleges that they are trying to follow.
If any staff are watching this thread, could you let us know if this issue is on the radar at all to be fixed? It seems to me that for a site calling itself College Confidential, it should be a pretty central feature to be able to subscribe to forums pertaining to particular, you know, colleges.
Please bring back forum favorites and subscriptions.
I, too would love for someone to reply to let us know that this issue is being look at. As it stands now, you have to click on each individual college to see if there is any activity. (Unless I am missing something?) At the very least, add a “most recent” column to the sub-forum (ie Top CC Universities, etc), so that you can tell at a glance the date that the latest post on each college was from. (Right now it tells you how many posts each college has…this means nothing to me…I don’t memorize that info, so I have no idea by this column if there are new posts or not). I really think that not having any indication of whether or not there is new activity (unless you are subscribed to a particular thread) is hurting CC–especially for the colleges that have less activity.
Please let us know if you are at least looking into some sort of fix for this (either indicating what date the last activity is for the sub-forums, or letting you subscribe to a particular college’s forum. I have been going to the individual colleges that we are interested in, but it is both cumbersome as well as the activity level seems lower–so I am starting to visit less and less frequently.
I really appreciate these forums and value the input I receive by visiting them-but they have not been very helpful lately. Thanks!
