The common app clearly states the time. Like 11.59 1/1/2013. What happens that? Do they stop accepting it?

I've heard that some schools extend their deadline if you have opened their app. I'm afraid that I can't submit one of mine in time.

PS: I've already applied to several colleges. My counselor opted to send the recs and transcripts by mail [offline submission]. Is there any problem if the postmark date is after the deadline? like 4 or 5 Jan

The world ends in hell and all applications in the works die.

Jking, I’m pretty sure the system just stops accepting it, so make sure you get it in on time. As for the recs and transcripts, they can arrive a little late, that’s fine, but your application has to be done and submitted by 23:59 1/1/2013

I’m not totally sure because I’ve heard of students submitting their EA/ED application several minutes/hours later. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Why should it matter? Submit your app on time and this won’t be an issue.

What about fee waivers? Can those be submitted a week or so after the deadline? My counselor isn’t in right now obviously so…

Doubt it. Fee waivers are usually your responsibility so I doubt it. I was in the same boat so I just borrowed money from a friend to pay and used the schools fee waiver for a different one.

Merr. If push comes to shove I’ll just withdraw my app. I think my schools won’t mind, though. Two already gave me permission come to think of it.

School forms are not bound to a specific deadline, they can be submitted at any time. There really shouldn’t be any reason that a student misses a deadline. This application has been online since Aug 1…

Schools won’t stop accepting apps at 12:00, January 2nd. There’s a little leeway here or there (probably plus or minus an hour or two).

Just submit it on time. Fee waivers and school reports can be submitted after the deadline if there was some issue in dealing with them. Shoot an e-mail to the admissions office if the fee waiver becomes an issue.

I did! Thank you! ^▁^
