What happens if ACT score is received a few days after app deadline?

I am supposed to be submitting my application to University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, which is a very hard school to get admitted to. However, I have sent every single piece of my application in except my ACT scores. I just requested those to be sent today, about 11 days before the application deadline. However, I am very worried that my scores will not arrive on the due date. Will they still accept my application and not dismiss it if my ACT scores arrive a day late? I'm not even sure that my scores will arrive late...most likely they will arrive on the exact due date, but just in case :P

You’re fine. As long as you requested/submitted everything possible on your end before the deadline, there’ll be no problems.

does this also hold true if it is a top university?

Yes it does for all

The first two weeks after a deadline, most schools will be filing information and trying to figure out what students are missing what. Schools will then typically send out a email detailing what you’re missing, and there will be a final deadline at that time to get things all in.

Thank you so very much to the two of you! What a relief…

However, bear in mind if a school specifically gives you a date that the last test scores can be considered, that can be an issue. In your case, it is not. But some schools will say, for example, that the last test date scores that can be taken into consideration are the February ones. That means that anything any student submits in terms of test scores aftet that date can be a problem.
