Im transferring form CCC this year and am planning on transferring Fall 2019. One issue, i had to drop a class that is highly recommend (not required) and it might not even be offered in the summer, so I may only have 2/3 classes in the series done.
I know it depends on the college. but is it worthwhile to still at least do 2 out of 3?
Some people told me colleges may make you take the entire series over again, is that true?
For example, I need to probably finish one more physics class before i transfer and i would love to go to ucla. In assist it says there is the equivalent of 6C, but im not sure if I can just take that class there and satisfy the requirements.
If your CC has an articulation agreement with UCLA (most California schools should) then you can simply look at the one to one correspondence of the courses you have taken to those at UCLA. If the courses you have taken are listed then there is no reason to believe that UCLA will force you to retake them. They will simply tell you to take the missing course to meet requirements. The issue is that if this last course is a pre-requisite for other classes, you are risking a longer time to degree because you will have to take this course at UCLA before continuing with other courses.
The CCC is De Anza College, major for UCLA is Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and would be 2A 2B 2C PHYSICS series, I would only have 2A and 2B done
I.e. the physics sequence is strongly recommended, but not absolutely required. However, due to the level of competition, others applicants with physics complete may have an advantage.
I understand that, I am more worried about if I do not finish the series if I would have to restart the series at the college or they would let me just finish the equivalent. I would hope finishing 2/3 classes is better than none at all
That ASSIST page looks like it has physics articulation as series-to-series. So De Anza PHYS 2A and 2B are supposedly not exact equivalents of UCLA PHYSICS 6A and 6B.
