What happens if I don't transfer a failed class that I took over summer at a community college?

I am currently a student at a CSU four year university and decided to take a class at a community college over the summer. If I fail this summer class, what happens if I don’t transfer this course over to my four year university? I have never taken a class at this community college and will never take another class there again. Can they track back to my class at the community college? Will this affect my GPA and will graduate schools be able to see that I failed a class at a community college even if I never transfered it?

You need to provide a true and complete record when you submit graduate applications.

Plus, schools can use the National Student Clearing House, and will see that you omitted the class anyways.

If I do not apply to graduate school, will if affect my GPA for my four year undergraduate degree?

Your CC class grade is not going to affect your GPA unless you choose to submit the class to transfer to your 4-year transcript. Not submitting the class for transfer is not unethical, because you are already enrolled in your 4-year program. If you had taken the class before being accepted at CSU, not choosing to submit your CC transcript would be unethical and could lead to problems down the road. LIkewise, as others have mentioned, if you choose to go to grad school, you will need to submit ALL of your undergrad transcripts.
