I did really horrible my first college year. I want to transfer but I don't want the next college to see those grades.I intend to tell the college that I did not go to school for a year. So what the biggest consequences with not turning my transcript/ not telling them which college I was in previously. Can they make a mark on my record or something like that if they find out.

This sort of behavior is seriously frowned on in our society. You are much further ahead going to your intended school and admitting your past errors … and then convincing then that you have mended your ways (and are now ready for success).

This is what they use to check your previous college record:

[National Student Clearinghouse: Degree verification & enrollment verification](http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/)

Don’t even think about lying about attending college.

I payed for my respective classes and failed them. I doesn’t seem to be morally wrong. I honestly think that students in general should not be forced to provide previous college information.

College applications ask you to list all colleges you’ve attended, and when you sign the application you are affirming you have told the truth. If you are caught lying while still in college, you will likely be kicked out, and your transcript will note of your dishonesty and the repercussions. If you are caught lying after a degree has been awarded, your degree will likely be rescinded. Lying on an application is considered academic dishonesty, something schools detest and punish vigorously.

I understand what yur saying about the whole legal thing. It’s just that imo I think people should be able to choose what they show to colleges. If I did good at my previous college then I have an incentive to show them.

What happens if you lie? Probably you get what you deserve and you get denied and something marked on your permanent record.

You don’t think students should have to tell previous college information? ***? On what basis? Give one good reason why the students should be able to create this perfect unrealistic version of themselves.

Oh you know what? I agree with you! I think I should only have to show what I want show colleges too! I should only let them see the classes I got an A in! If I did good in my classes I got As in I shouldn’t have to show them anything else! You know what else would be great? If you matured and realized that in life you have to take the good and the bad, you can’t run away from part of your academic history.

And when you apply for a loan you should provide only positive information … ignoring any liens, unpaid bills and bankruptsys from your past. Oh yeah, and you should be able to chose any credit score from your past, not the current one that doesn’t look so hot.
