What happens if I get a D in AP Physics?

If I got a D in AP Physics for the first semester what would happen? Would it void the entire clas in regard to credits and the 2nd semester wouldn't even matter? Would they kick me out of the class? If not, what if I got an A the second semester and 5 on the AP exam, would that even help? Or is that first semester just beyond repair? Would I have to retake the first semester? If so, when and how would I do that?

Talk to your counselor.

Dont worry,

The usual thing that happens to a student with a D in a AP Class is waterboarding. It might sound terrible, but it aint torture

Life goes on.

Well this was no help at all. Thanks guys, I appreciate your condescending sarcasm.

This really is a thing you should talk to your counselor about though.

Lol I’m sorry but each school has different rules. In my school if you are in an AP class and get a D you will be kicked out. No exceptions unless you the teacher personally recommends you stay. Maybe it is best that you leave the class if you are struggling? Is there an external reason? How do you expect to get a 5 with a D in the class?

Oh and again in my school you don’t have to retake it you will just be moved to a non AP class. If you get an F then you have to retake it. But really you should talk to your counselor or dean because every school is of course different in their rules.

If I got a D in AP Physics for the first semester what would happen?
-It would hurt your GPA and colleges wouldn’t accept the credits.

Would it void the entire class in regard to credits and the 2nd semester wouldn’t even matter?
-No, if you got a C or higher second semester you would get credits for that semester. Then you would probably have to make up the other semester over summer.

Would they kick me out of the class?
-No.

If not, what if I got an A the second semester and 5 on the AP exam, would that even help?
-You would get college credit for Physics and 5 points added onto your GPA, but you still need to make up the first semester.

Or is that first semester just beyond repair?
-It can be repaired in summer school.

Would I have to retake the first semester?
-Yes.

If so, when and how would I do that?
-Summer school?

That’s what would happen at my school, but I don’t see how this helps as yours could be different.

At my school a D will get you credit towards graduation but I know most colleges do not accept Ds so you would have an opportunity to retake the semester as far as getting a 5 on the ap exam each teacher can set their own policy there are teachers who will give you an A for each semester and then there are those who say " would you expect to Greta C for both semesters if you got a 3 ) so it just all depends on your schools policy I know Ap physics us very challenging that’s why at my school you have to take physics E before you can take AP physics. (It’s the only AP ljke that here except calculus )
