shut the hell up. i was typing fast. nice that u pointed that out tho u prick.

quote "first u spelled aisan wrong. and second we arent URM's in top colleges"

shut the hell up. i was typing fast. nice that u pointed that out tho u prick.

You've spelled it wrong again. Just in case you're interested.

Nitpick at everything, why don't you. It's a typo. Get over it. I doubt s/he made it to applying for colleges without being able to spell.

your name or your parents names will probably give it away...why bother to even try?

Jesminder, Nitpick? When the guy starts calling people "prick", and telling folks to "shut the hell up", he becomes fair game. Anybody can apply to college, whether they get in or not is another matter.

Any thoughts:

Hypothetically speaking couldn't you say you 'considered yourself' to be any race you wanted? Isn't that what they put on the app anyway? I mean - I could consider myself to be black despite the colour of my skin... Michael Jackson gets away with it. And if they ever caught me I could just say that I truly do consider myself to be of that race and to label me as 'caucasian' just on the colour of my skin is probably considered prejudice at some ultra-left school somewhere, right?

Note: I would never, ever do this by the by, just speculating...

Oh yeah, and would it be a good idea for whites and asians to tick 'I prefer not to be identified by race' on the thing - or does it make absolutely no difference or even hurt you for being too 'in-the-know with the admissions system'?

To apply to college, you must first graduate high school. Most people who graduate high school, can spell basic words.

Be the more mature person, and don't say anything to the poster if you don't like them calling people 'pricks' and carrying on.

This is the WORST idea ever.

Did you not read the post where the URM got into MIT and Carnegie Mellon? Carnegie Mellon wanted him to visit and all qualified URMs are flown in to an URM event. I'm pretty sure the college will notice if you are there with 20 other African Americans and you are the only white/asian.

Such a discovery will cause major media and you will be embarrassed as well as have your application rescinded and rejected from every school you applied to.

But what I am hypothetically saying is I could still claim to be a minority even if I wasn't one because I like their culture etc.

^ No. Duh.

afriend. im not a guy. and i got into every college i applied to just in case youre interested.

i read an article that said the harvard native american club sends information and calls those who checked the "native american" box. It turns out, more than half of the people they talked to never responded and even admitted they wernt NA.

Thank God I'm Hispanic. :D

"I'm Asian (Bengali) but I can pass myself off as an Hispanic because I'm light-skinned and look like a Columbian, etc."

ColOmbians range from extremely dark skinned to as pale as you can get.

If you want to do it (cheat your way through life) that badly just legally change your name to a hispanic name and don't fill in your race.

LOL, the OP got PWN3D because he can't even tell the difference between Colombian and Columbian. :) Sieg Smile. The OP disgusts me.

His parents have his last name

He'll get pwned if he does get accepted.
