When I went to my HS counselor who's in charge of sending transcripts for us seniors, she seemed pretty irresponsible, and now I just have this bad feeling in my stomach. She said she'd send it in the first week of JULY, which means there's only a few days for the transcript to arrive. On top of that, she said for some reason, our transcripts seem to get lost on their way to UCSD quite a lot, "but don't worry, everything will work out".
Well, I tend to worry a lot. :(

UCSD won't revoke my admission if I don't meet the deadline, right? Because it's not really my fault.

--also, off topic: what is the usual time people seem to arrive on campus on move-in day? I want to be able to pick the side of the room I like, but since I'm coming from norcal, I'd like to know if it's necessary to arrive one day before move-in day.

My memory might be a bit hazy on this, but I think last year a lot of people got their admission revoked because UCSD didn't receive their transcripts. I remember there were a ton of threads about it.. Not sure what happened to those folks... But there were a ton of "I told my high school to send it! What happened?!" There was even some speculation that UCSD revoked these admissions because they overaccepted last year. But if it does get lost and UCSD sends you that e-mail, best thing to do is fight it out and let them know it's not your fault.

My high school actually allows us send the transcripts in ourselves which I think is great. (Though at the moment it sucks for me because I'm out of the country and I need to get people to pick it up for me). They just postmark the return address themselves and we fill in the address... Then one trip to the post office and BAM, that feeling of insecurity is GONE. I think all high schools should do this to prevent anything like "lost in the mail" or "forgot to send."

I got out of school around May 24th and UCSD just now received my transcript.

I've called the UCSD office of admissions a lot in the past week just to see if they've received my transcript. If you don't have a check mark in Tritonlink, you can always ask them if they've received it. It might take them awhile to update your Tritonlink page.

Wow, that's an awefullly long time.
Should I just request another transcript from my district office just to be on the safe side? Would UCSD care if they receive two transcripts from me..?

I think legally schools arent supposed to have students touch the official transcripts that gets sent to the schools. Its supposed to be directly from the HS you attended, or so I was told by my counselor.

Ironically, admissions told me (since i was in the same situation you were, a little worried and my registrar took an early leave) and UCSD admissions advised me to keep a copy of it and send that in if UCSD never receives it. Try pulling that with your school.

I was rescinded last year because my transcript somehow never got to UCSD (that's why I joined this forum, in fact). They re-instated me once I sent them a letter, and also provided a letter from my HS registrar and an official transcript.

Do call them if within a few days of the deadline, your transcript still doesn't show up on Tritonlink. You have a lot more leverage if you can honestly claim that you contacted UCSD about the issue.
