What happens if the application doesn't ask for ECs, Essay, or Rec Letters?

Two of the colleges i'm applying to as safeties don't require you to provide essays, teacher reccommendations, and a list of extra curriculars is optional for one of the schools.

My question is - should I still send an essay, a list of ECs, and a rec letter from a teacher, or will they be looked over as unimportant, and won't even be counted? Would it be a waste of time?

which colleges are those? states?

i don't think you need them.

Indiana University - Bloomington
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Are you planning on applying to any honors programs at U of M-TC? Those will require an additional application with a teacher rec and essay.

I just talked to an admissions counselor at UM Twin Cities and realized that they don't offer my major at a Bachelor's degree level, so i'm not applying there, even though I sent in my app.

LOL, down to 3 schools on my list. I may need to look at others.

When in doubt, call the admissions department of colleges you're interested in (just don't become a pest). Interest & clarity is good, pest is TOO much.
