What happens if you accidentally use a pen on a FRQ which is pencil only?

<p>To explain, I just took my makeup AP CS exam today. My instructor incorrectly told me to use a pen to answer the FRQ's and I only later discovered that you're only allowed to use a pencil. Am I screwed or will they just let this slide?</p>

<p>The test that I took clearly said pencil. It made no mention of using a pen. My guidance counselor actually said that it required pen (stupid of me not to double check). Regardless, as long as I won’t be penalized for using a pen, I’m happy.</p>

<p>I believe all AP FRQs can be done in pen, but none can be done in pencil.</p>

<p>^ That’s not true. I can tell you from personal experience that the calculus and chemistry tests allow pencil.</p>

<p>The bottom line is that your responses will be scored according to the uniform grading standards for the test, and there are no points awarded (or deducted) for your writing utensil. As long as your work is legible, you’re fine.</p>

<p>Sorry, I have no idea why I said this. Calculus, Chemistry, physics, and computer science all allow pencil and some other ones probably do as well. I meant to say that none MUST be done in pencil.</p>
